I visited Austin’s Hey Cupcake! (South Congress location) and got the Double Dose (left) and a lemon vegan cupcake (right, special item).
They sell these BIG cupcakes for $2.50 each and the best thing, the little trailer is open late! Great for late night cupcake cravings! It’s open from noon – 9 pm Tuesdays to Thursdays, noon – 10 pm on Friday, 11 am – 10 pm Saturdays, and noon – 9 pm on Sundays. Best times for busy college students and working adults. Hey Cupcake! is closed on Mondays, but their regular hours are so awesome that it’s OK with me.
If you don’t have milk, which you’ll definitely need for the chocolately cupcakes, then you’re in luck because it’s also on the menu.
For an even sweeter touch, make your cupcake a Whipper Snapper. They ask you if you want a free shot of whipped cream injected into the center. Wowie!
And one thing you can’t resist…pink frosting! It’s on the Snowcap cupcake, but I’m sure you can just ask for it on any other cupcake flavor. I wish I could buy the frosting — it’s out of this world!
Owner Wes is friendly to customers and takes orders from his super shiny trailer, which is perfectly topped with a ginormous cupcake. You can’t miss it!
